The one star is for the two service advisors I’ve dealt with who were helpful over the years, Benny and Tim. I should have listened to friends who dealt with them and were unhappy. Over the years I have used Atlantic Toyota for service after purchasing my car from the Amityville dealership because I thought it was better to have Toyota trained mechanics. My Rav4 has had many more costly repairs than the average car in its six years (and it’s had no accidents.) My Rav4 has been an expensive lemon.

It’s the last time I have to deal with Toyota. I left, upset and not wanting to argue, though I should have known from past experience how this dealership works. So I’d have to pay ANOTHER “$120 plus” diagnostic fee. Seems like there should be a Safety Recall or Class Action Lawsuit.Īt the Atlantic Toyota dealership I was told flat out by a service advisor that “his” technician would need to see the car before putting in the part. My research turned up same issue on years 2019,2020 & 2021 so far. Upon further investigation, it seems I am not the only RAV4 owner with this problem! Obviously, looks like a manufacturing structural flaw. Have a Case number with Toyota Brand Engagement Center. Now, at 32,446 miles, the driver’s side rear liftgate hinge is cracked and rear door has shifted to the right. Couldn’t afford the repair, so Toyota tech turned off Power liftgate mode and told me to use it manually. In July 2022 at 27,583 miles the rear automatic liftgate failed. I purchased a 2019 Certified Preowned RAV4 Premium in November 2020 from Wolfchase Toyota in Memphis, Tennessee with 17,441 miles on the odometer. I will update the progress once it is resolved. I received a phone call from Wolfchase Toyota/Toyota Corporate and they are going to repair/resolve the issue with my liftgate! Top notch customer service.
